What You’ll Do:
Conduct on-site safety observations to ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and company policies. Collaborate with teams during pre-planning phases through risk assessments, hazard analysis, and the implementation of controls. Develop, deliver, and facilitate safety training sessions, Toolbox Talks, Safety Flashes, and tailored site-specific programs. Lead new hire orientations and perform post-accident drug screenings. Investigate incidents thoroughly and recommend corrective actions. Support subcontractor safety compliance through regular audits and pre-job Safe Starts. Maintain detailed safety documentation for various worksites, including HazCom, rigging, crane, excavation, and scaffold records. Participate in safety meetings, morning huddles, and site stretching programs, providing expert guidance to project teams. Procure safety equipment and perform additional safety-related duties as required.What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in HSE/Safety-related field and 0–3 years of experience, or 1–3 years of heavy civil construction experience without a degree. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively and overnight as needed. Strong familiarity with OSHA, MSHA, and DOT regulations is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong organizational and time management abilities. Details-oriented, adaptable, and capable of working effectively under deadlines. Demonstrates a problem-solving mindset prioritizing safety at all times.Preferred Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in an HSE or related field. Prior experience in heavy civil construction safety roles.Additional Requirements:
Willingness to travel long distances and stay overnight as necessary.
