HSE Specialist

Seeking a Qualified HSE Specialist that is responsible for directing the development, implementation, and evaluation of critical HSA processes, programs, and procedures to achieve goals, objectives, and continuous improvement related to safety, the environment and health at a new manufacturing plant.

Description

Develop, operate, and maintain environmental, health, and safety management systems

Ensure completion and documentation of all safety training

Implement corporate safety standards and site-specific HSE management systems

Investigate and address occupational illnesses and injuries

Participate in corporate HSE networks and communicate site requirements

Review and support HSE aspects of capital projects and process/equipment changes

Oversee contractors and ensure compliance with OSHA and site safety requirements

Complete weekly and monthly safety checks (e.g., eyewash stations, showers)

Review HSE KPIs and target areas for improvement

Liaise with plant staff on HSE issues

Ensure compliance with environmental permits (recordkeeping, reporting, permitting, renewal)

Implement wellness programs

Participate as a member of the plant leadership team

Perform other HSE duties as assigned by Plant Manager or Division HSE leadership

Skills and Qualifications

8+years of experience in the health, safety, and environmental areas at the plant level.

Applied knowledge of environmental, health and safety laws and regulations

Certifications in environmental, health, and/or safety (i.e., ASP, CSP, CHMM, etc.)

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Strong team player

Excellent written, verbal and computer skills (MS Office, SharePoint, etc.)

Proven time management skills

Independent worker requiring minimal day-to-day direction or oversight.

Ability to establish priorities and work effectively in a team environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Prior experience in an industrial manufacturing environment (preferred)

Experience creating HSE programs/documentation for greenfield or brownfield plants (preferred)

Experience with safe plant start-up (preferred)

Bachelor's degree in safety or environmental

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
