GKN Automotive is part of Dowlais Group plc, a specialist engineering group focused on the automotive sector. **Role Purpose** To assist management in building and maintaining a fully functioning Health and Safety program that is capable of achieving world class results through best practices and benchmarking efforts. **What you’ll do** + Ensure the development, implementation and updating of required written safety and health programs and plans. + Conduct investigations into employee inquiries, suggestions and complaints. + Maintain required safety and health documents/files. + Conduct periodic safety and health walk-through inspections of all workplace facilities. + Conduct accident/injury investigations and illness exposure monitoring. + Monitor program for reporting and investigating “near-miss” situations. + Responsible for communicating when there is an issue affecting the Environment, Health, Safety or Quality to his / her respective Manager **What you’ll need** + Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health, Safety, Engineering or related field or 5 years experience with a heavy background in a Safety related field, + Background in environmental related fields. + Working knowledge of OSHA, Fault Tree Analysis, Continuos Improvement, and Office Suite of tools. Self starter, driven, inquizative, detail oriented.
