HSE Specialist - 19394
We’re looking for a Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Specialist in Canada.

Our client is a leading provider of essential energy solutions, ensuring the reliable supply of power, heating, and cooling to businesses and communities. They are currently looking to add a proactive and experienced HSE Specialist to their team. This role will focus on developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs across various job sites to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and foster a strong safety culture.

HSE Specialist responsibilities: Conduct site inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with OH&S legislation Support supervisors and teams in implementing safe work practices and risk mitigation strategies Lead or assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective actions Maintain up-to-date Canadian safety documentation, including hazard assessments, SWPs, and training records Deliver safety training and toolbox talks to encourage awareness and promote a positive safety culture Track and report on safety performance indicators and assist with proactive risk management Participate in and drive company-wide safety initiatives and systems (e.g., COR, ISNetworld) Liaise with provincial and federal safety regulators (e.g., Alberta OH&S, WorkSafeBC, WSIB Ontario)
The successful candidate has:  A diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field NCSO and CRST or CRSP certification preferred (or actively working toward certification) First Aid, WHMIS, and other related certifications 5+ years of experience in health and safety roles, particularly in construction, oil & gas, or industrial environments Strong knowledge of Canadian OH&S legislation and industry best practices Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with safety management platforms (e.g., COR, ISNetworld) Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team Willingness and ability to travel across Canada to various job sites and facilities
Compensation and benefits:
  The discussed salary range is $90,000 – $120,000 depending on experience Candidates with additional experience and higher compensation expectations may also be considered Comprehensive benefits package Company Vehicle Opportunities for professional development and career advancement
