Job Opportunity: HSE Safety Coach – Offshore
Reporting To: HSE Superintendent
Functional Reporting: Operational Safety, Security & Methods Manager
About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly motivated HSE Safety Coach to provide visible, on-the-ground support for offshore operations. This is a short-term assignment designed to strengthen the safety culture by providing additional HSE leadership, coaching, and hands-on field presence.
The HSE Safety Coach will play a key role in promoting client’s HSE policies and ensuring that all personnel working offshore adhere to the highest safety standards.
Key Responsibilities HSE Leadership & Coaching:
Promote Client HSE policies, practices, and safety culture across all contractors and teams working offshore. Visible Safety Presence:
Actively engage in daily offshore activities, walking work sites, coaching personnel, and demonstrating safety best practices through “walking the talk.” Safety Interventions:
Identify and immediately intervene in unsafe practices. Apply STOP Work Authority when required to prevent incidents. Daily Toolbox Talks (TBT):
Participate in daily Toolbox Talks, ensuring job risks are clearly identified, communicated, and adequately controlled. Permit to Work (PTW) Audits:
Monitor PTW compliance by auditing the system regularly (no signing authority required). HSE Coverage Monitoring:
Ensure appropriate HSE supervision is provided in all operational areas and verify that JSA (Job Safety Analysis) and supporting documents are in place. Collaboration:
Work closely with the Site OIM, FOPS, HSE Supervisors, and Project Teams to address safety concerns and promote HSE best practices across disciplines. Daily Reporting:
Submit daily HSE observations and corrective actions to the Site OIM and OSS HSE team in Doha before the evening meeting. HSE Coaching for Contractors:
Provide direct coaching and support to contractor HSE Officers and monitor their activities. Safety Walkthroughs:
Conduct regular HSE tours across all offshore sites to ensure safety compliance and awareness. Support the HSE Team:
Act as a valuable resource for the Site OIM and HSE teams by focusing on areas and activities that carry the highest safety risks.
Qualifications & Experience Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of verifiable HSE experience in a similar offshore safety role, including coaching and supervision. Industry Knowledge:
Solid understanding of offshore construction activities and safety practices. Certifications: NEBOSH International General Certificate (or equivalent recognized HSE qualification) OPITO H2S T-BOSIET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training) Authorized Gas Tester (AGT) Language:
Fluent in English (spoken and written). Specific Expertise:
Strong knowledge of offshore SIMOPS safety management.
