HSE Applications Support DT Technical Manager

The HSE Applications Support and Roadmap DT Manager is responsible for the effective management, support, and enhancement of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) software applications within an Oil & Gas organization. This role focuses on ensuring application reliability, providing technical support, and developing strategic roadmaps to align HSE technology with business goals.

Responsibilities:

Application Support and Maintenance:

Provide day-to-day support for HSE applications, ensuring system stability and availability.Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in collaboration with IT and vendor support teams.Perform regular updates, patches, and upgrades to maintain application security and compliance.

Strategic Road mapping:

Develop and maintain a long-term roadmap for HSE applications to align with corporate strategy and technological advancements.Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle for digital transformation projects, from ideation to launch and beyond.Oversee the design, development, and deployment of digital products and solutions, ensuring they meet quality standards and user expectations.Identify emerging technologies and trends to recommend enhancements or new solutions for HSE functions.Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and prioritize features and improvements.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Partner with HSE teams to understand their processes and ensure the applications meet operational needs.Conduct regular reviews with end-users and management to address feedback and plan future developments.Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and opportunities.Partner with our DT and Sourcing organizations to keep relationship with vendors, ensuring service levels and deliverables are met.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, marketing, operations, and finance, to identify opportunities for digital innovation.Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team and across the organization.

Training and Documentation:

Develop user guides, training materials, and conduct training sessions for HSE application users.Maintain documentation for configurations, processes, and issue resolutions.

Compliance and Risk Management:

Ensure HSE applications comply with industry regulations and corporate policies.Understanding of process safety management programsMonitor and mitigate risks related to application performance, data integrity, and cybersecurity using data-driven insights to make informed decisions and optimize product offerings.

Project Management:

Lead or participate in the implementation of new HSE applications or modules.Manage projects for system upgrades and process optimizations, including planning, execution, and post-implementation review.Experience with waterfall project implementation and agile methodologies and tools, such as Scrum and Kanban.

Meet or Exceed Key Performance Indicators:

Systems uptime and reliability.User satisfaction scores via ServiceNow application or equivalent.Timeliness and success of application upgrades or enhancements.Alignment of the HSE application roadmap with organizational goals.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Engineering (Environmental, Civil or Industrial) or Computer Science, Environmental Science, or a related field. MBA or MS in Environmental Engineering or relevant certification is a plus. Strong understanding of HSE processes and regulatory compliance requirements in the Oil & Gas industry as in Training in OSHA/HAZCOM regulations, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) for labelling requirements of hazardous materials and their international global equivalent (Americas: mainly US, Canada, Mexico and Brazil and Europe).6–10 years of experience in application support, preferably within the Oil & Gas or HSE domain.Strong Understanding of digital technologies and trends, including cloud computing (Azure implementation projects and system migrations), Data and Analytics using Databricks or equivalent platforms as well as use of SQL, MS SQL Server and Server Maintenance (Azure and On-Prem)Strong understanding of reporting requirements and connectivity between Sphera Intelligent Authoring and SAP to create data structures in Databricks or similar platforms for end users to create reports.Understanding of process safety management programsExperience with HSE software solutions such as SAP EH&S, Enablon, Intelex, Gensuite, Sphera Intelligent Authoring, Sphera Environmental Compliance, Sphera Cloud and SCCM or similar.Proficient with Label form creation and maintenance of hazardous materials in Sphera Intelligent Authoring or equivalent software.Proficient with SDS form creation and maintenance of hazardous materials in Sphera or equivalent applications.Proficient in troubleshooting, systems integration, and data management.

Desired Requirements:

Experience in a chemical manufacturing facility or similar industry. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.Proven experience as a Product Manager, preferably in digital transformation or related fields.Have been involved in or led implementations of environmental applications.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.Experience in strategic planning and technology road mapping.Familiarity with ITIL processes and methodologies is a plus.Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
