Basic Qualifications:

Howmet is currently looking for a Monoshell Operator to join our Hampton Structural Castings (HSC) group in Hampton, Virginia. Training is 1st shift, M-F 6am-2pm. The shift hours are to be determined upon training completion.

New Hire Starting Rate: $21.07 p/hr.; After 6 months: $23.41 p/hr.

This position will receive an hourly “shift premium” of $1.00 p/hr. while assigned to an off shift.

Job Summary: The HSC Monoshell Operator will build a ceramic mold around a completed wax assembly and to remove the wax once the mold is complete.

Essential Functions & Job Responsibilities:

Operate and maintain mixing equipment, slurry pots, robot, pumps, hoist, hand grinders, boiler-clave, furnace, furnace controller, and various hand toolsPrepare and setup molds for dipping or dewax processingRead and operate measuring equipment and gaugesDisposition and adjust process variables based on measurementsMeasure, mix, add, apply, empty, and dispose slurry ingredients and process materialsInspect, document, disposition and rework molds for damage and process deviationsDetermine order of work and need to perform work based on work rules, priority lists, time calculations, observations and supervision instructionsRetrieve and put away materials, tools and supplies and cleanup work areaMixes plaster powder and water according to specified formulaAbility to read and follow the information on work instructionsRecord data either manually or by computer as required
