Howmet is currently looking for a Cutoff Operator to join our Hampton Structural Castings (HSC) group in Hampton, Virginia. The available shift hours are 2nd shift, M-F 2pm-10pm. Training is 1st shift, M-F 6am-2pm.
New Hire Starting Rate: $21.94 p/hr.; After 6 months: $24.39 p/hr.
This position will receive an hourly “shift premium” of $1.00 p/hr. while assigned to an off shift.
Job Summary: The Cutoff Operator will remove excess gating per customer specification.

Ability to read and follow work instructionsRecord data either manually or by computer as requiredMaintain and operate swing frame, power tabor, and manual taborUse mechanical devices as available for lifting and maneuvering partsObserve and maintain all safety requirementsRemove and install saw blades as neededMaintain a tolerance of .080 to .125 gate witness per product criteria (PC) requirementsAbility to measure the width and depth of the gating using a go, no go gauge as required per partOther duties as assigned
