The HRIS Systems Consultant owns and leads HR data and system related activities for the global People Data Management team. This role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of employee data to support core HR processes, reporting, and strategic decision-making. As the Workday Subject Matter Expert (SME), the consultant provides guidance on data operations, leads Tier 2 support including issue resolution, and ensures compliance through audit support and data governance. In addition, this position will have direct supervision and mentorship of up to 2 junior HRIS Analysts.Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Own and drive Tier 2 Support activities serving as the main point of escalation and issue resolution. This includes but not limited to a) Support organization creation, process rescinds, data validation, and reporting requests. b) Support mass data uploads through Workday Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB). c) Supports light configuration within Workday including table maintenance, calculated fields, alerts, campaigns and notifications.Meet established SLAs, KPIs and sets the team’s internal process, culture and support strategy.Serve as the SME for Workday HCM Security, driving best practices in access management, troubleshooting complex security issues, and partnering with stakeholders to align security configurations with business needs.Collaborate with People Centers of Excellence (Talent, Payroll, Rewards, Compensation, Learning, etc.) and People Partnering teams to improve data quality and ensure data curation.Participate in enhancement testing and provide consultation on data impacts for new features.Deliver training and guidance to People teams to enhance understanding of data processes, transactions, and reporting tools, fostering a culture of data literacy and operational excellence.Lead the end-to-end data migration and data conversion processes by facilitating data gathering workshops, collaborating with impacted stakeholder teams to ensure successful data integration.Develops and documents best practices for data management, ensuring clear guidelines for data entry, maintenance, and reporting. Partners with IT and Compliance teams to align data management practices with internal policies and external industry regulations.Implements and enforce data governance policies to ensure consistency, security, and compliance with global standards.Leadership & Team Collaboration
Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance management to team members, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and individual career development.Enforce role responsibilities, and workflows for efficient delivery, knowledge sharing, and operational excellence across global HR systems.Drive continuous process improvements and data quality through proactive auditing of data and maximizing utilization of system features and capabilities.Build relationships with stakeholders to adopt processes and influence the use of standards.Leads cross-functional initiatives to optimize HR data workflows and system efficiencies.Qualifications
7+ years of Workday experience with up to 2 years of team lead responsibilities.Experience in leading Tier 2 support or similar Workday support functions.Proven experience managing Workday operations and data in a large, global organization.Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.Strong understanding of HR data governance, compliance, and privacy standards.Experience in other HRIS systems, Oracle JD Edwards, UKG, People Experience tools and workflow ticketing systems such as ServiceNow.Understanding of local, state, and federal laws involving employment and HR policies.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.Nice to Have:
