HRIS Program Lead \n

The HRIS Program Lead is responsible for overseeing the installation, configuration, and on-gong maintenance of the HRIS system (Workday). Ensure HRIS effectively supports HR functions including HCM, onboarding, time tracking, absence, recruiting, payroll, compensation, performance, benefits, advanced compensation, talent, learning and reporting. This role requires a blend of strong leadership and technical expertise in HRIS systems, project management skills, and effective communication abilities to collaborate with various stakeholders. This includes creating and delivering plans for system improvements and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and user experience. \n

This role is essential in optimizing HRIS processes, supporting integrations, and partnering cross-functionally with IT, Payroll, and Finance to deliver a best-in-class employee and HR technology experience.\n

Due to the nature of our industry, our processing is in accordance with many regulatory agencies including Department of Labor, ATF, Department of Homeland Security, DOT regulations, Canda ERD, and Transport Canada.\n

Key Responsibilities:\nSystem Design, Configuration & Support\n\nDesign and configure Workday modules including HCM, Time, Absence, Payroll, Benefits, Recruiting, Compensation, and Talent Management.\nProvide daily production support and ongoing system enhancements across all Workday functional areas.\nLead testing, validation, and deployment of Workday releases and new functionality.\nConduct regular audits of system usage, performance, and data integrity to drive continuous improvement.\n\nReporting, Dashboards & Analytics\n\nBuild and enhance Advanced, Matrix, Composite, and Discovery Board reports to deliver actionable insights.\nMaintain and optimize the HR custom report library (over 900 reports), implementing guidelines to streamline naming, tagging, and sharing.\nDevelop dashboards for employee year-end tasks, HRIS workspace, and leadership decision-making.\nDevelop and generate reports to provide insights into key HR metrics.\n\nPayroll & Time Management\n\nSupport Weekly and Bi-Weekly payroll, pay groups, schedules, accruals, and time-off plans.\nBuild paid sick leave time off plans for compliance across multiple states, including carryover, balance limits, and eligibility conditions.\nProvided hands-on training, SOPs, and payroll process checklists.\n\nMergers & Acquisitions\n\nSupport Workday data integration projects across the US and Canada, supporting over 1400 employees.\nStreamline census data templates and EIB load processes to reduce integration time and errors.\n\nTraining & Support \n\nProvide training and support to HR staff and other users on how to effectively utilize the HRIS (Workday) Platform.\n\nSecurity & Compliance\n\nCreate and maintain User-Based, Unconstrained, Constrained Role-Based, and Segmented Security Groups.\nMaintain system compliance with federal, state, and local regulations through business process audits and regular system reviews.\nAdminister user access, security groups, domain policies, and business process permissions.\n\nProcess Optimization & Project Management\n\nConsolidate entities as needed across the US and Canada to simplify payroll and HRIS workload.\nSupport the implementation of Talent, Advanced Compensation, and Performance modules in Phase-X.\nDesign and implement automated workflows using Workday's Request Framework for key HR processes including Job Accommodation, Tuition Reimbursement, and Benefits Appeals.\n\nRecruiting & Talent Management\n\nSupport Recruiting operations by creating positions, closing legacy requisitions, update templates and grid views to improve efficiency.\nPartner with HR team to configure internal\/external offer letters, performance review processes, and annual bonus structures.\n\nRequired Qualifications:\n\n5+ years of experience in HRIS with in-depth Workday HCM and deep understanding of end-to-end HR processes.\nExcellent leadership, communication, and people skills.\nDirect expertise in configuring and supporting multiple Workday modules: HCM, Payroll, Time, Absence, Recruiting, Compensation, Talent, and Reporting.\nExperience with Workday Advanced Compensation, Dashboards, Security Administration, and integration.\nProject management skills, with a history of leading system implementations or enhancements.\nHigh attention to detail with a focus on data integrity, compliance, and system governance.\nStrong analytical critical thinking skills.\nAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\nWorkday certifications in one or more functional areas\nExpertise in Workday modules, configurations, and integrations\nDeep understanding of HR processes, technical expertise, and a strong ability to align technology with business goals.\nStrong Leadership and collaboration skills\nExperience working across multiple legal entities and countries (U.S. and Canada).\nKnowledge of employment regulations across multiple U.S. states and provinces.\nPrior experience in a manufacturing, multi-entity, or private equity environment is a plus.\n\nWork Environment & Travel:\n
