Job Description: Job Title: HRIS Intern Department: Human Resources FLSA: Hourly General Function: The HRIS Intern supports the Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) team in the maintenance, enhancement, and optimization of Workday and related HR systems. This role provides hands-on experience with HR technology, data management, reporting, and system support while working closely with Human Resources, Recruiting, and Information Technology teams. The HRIS Intern assists with day-to-day system support, data integrity efforts, report analysis, and testing activities. This position is designed to provide exposure to HR systems operations and best practices while developing foundational HRIS and analytical skills. Core Competencies + Partnerships + Growth mindset + Results oriented + Customer focused + Professionalism Reporting Relations: Accountable and Reports to: Director, HRIS Positions that Report to you: None Primary Duties and Responsibilities: + Serves as the HRIS partner supporting their workstreams in Workday. + Provides consultation to human resource and recruiting team members, building domain knowledge, gathering requirements, providing solutions and impact analysis. + Research current and upcoming Workday capabilities. + Evaluate releases and functionality to identify opportunities to improve + Assists in testing integrations, security, annual events. + Maintains master data values in Workday (ex: Job Posting Locations, Onboarding Documents Locations). + Serves as a resource for resolving Workday issues, unexpected results, or process gaps. + Provides input and knowledge sharing with HRIS Manager, Workday Team Members, and other stakeholders as appropriate. + Participate in scheduled and ad hoc training in order to improve policy and process acumen. + Reports to work when scheduled and on time. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics: + Commitment to the Hy-Vee Mission and a willingness to promote the values of the company. + Understanding of HR operations and experience in employee data management. + Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with HR clients, cross-functional colleagues and IT. + Ability to accurately collect information to understand and assess needs. + Strong attention to detail. + Ability to prioritize workload and provide timely follow-up and resolution. + Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects. Education and Experience: + High school diploma or equivalent required; actively pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree preferred. Physical Requirements: + Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near range with or without correction. + Must be physically able to perform sedentary work: occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 10 pounds, and occasionally standing or walking. + Must be able to perform the following physical activities: stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions. Working Conditions The duties for this position are normally conducted in an office environment. There is frequent pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities.
