Job Summary
Under general supervision, the HR Tech 2 enters and processes personnel and payroll transactions. The role involves compiling and filing employment reports, searching files, and furnishing information to authorized individuals.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
+ Payroll & Compensation: Calculates and initiates payroll computations and deductions; enters data into the computer system.
+ Onboarding: Completes entry processes for new employees and coordinates hiring processes to ensure all required forms and clearances are obtained.
+ Transaction Management: Enters, verifies, reviews, and processes personnel and position transactions; resolves related problems.
+ Benefits & Records: Processes enrollments and changes; responds to questions regarding benefit programs, tax issues, and payroll matters.
+ Distribution: Processes and issues employee paychecks and earnings statements; schedules and monitors the distribution of paychecks.
+ Reporting: Verifies attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments, posting information to designated records.
+ Support: Provides information to agency staff regarding transactions or other personnel-related issues.
Qualifications
+ Entry Qualifications: High school diploma/GED and one (1) year of experience in HR job-related functions; OR one (1) year of experience at the lower-level HR Tech 1 (HRT010) or equivalent.
+ Substitution Note: An equivalent combination of education, training, intern experience, or certifications may be substituted year-over-year.
+ Preferred Qualifications: Agencies may add additional requirements beyond the entry qualifications.
