The HR Specialist - Background Investigation is responsible for ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and statutes related to the onboarding and employment process. This position involves working closely with various teams to facilitate a smooth and efficient hiring experience while maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations.
ResponsibilitiesLearn and interpret policies, procedures, and statutes related to the assigned regional coverage area.Assist with special projects within the Background Investigations Team.Interpret and understand legal documents with the assistance of teammates and other corporate departments.Provide field and team member education as directed.Partner with Field and Corporate Managers to ensure an efficient new hire onboarding experience.Collaborate with other departments to ensure an efficient hiring/employment process.Maintain working knowledge of the Global Employee Search process and third-party vendor processes.Participate in monthly exclusion checks to ensure no current caregiver or team member is ineligible to work due to exclusion on federal or state Medicaid exclusion lists or abuse registry.Assist with training and educating field offices on new processes.Collect Background Investigations Team metrics by inputting case data as assigned.Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and Employee Relations on complex issues.Work closely with Talent Resources Coordinators to assist with onboarding of internal team members.Assist the Team Lead with third-party vendor use for substance abuse screening and medical services.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsHuman resourcesEmployee relationsData entryBackground investigationAdministrative supportHR administrationProficiency in MS Suite and Microsoft OfficeExperience with HR systems and FMLAAdditional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.High School diploma or equivalent required.At least 1 year of prior Human Resources experience preferred.Prior work experience in the healthcare industry preferred.Ability to learn to use third-party vendor systems, including those for Background screening, substance abuse, and employment verification.Experience using the ADP payroll system.Work EnvironmentThe position follows a hybrid schedule with three days in the office and two days remote per week. Working hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM. Parking is included.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
