Description Our recruiting firm is partnering with a growing company in the construction industry located in San Marcos, CA that is seeking an experienced HR Specialist. This is a fantastic opportunity for an HR professional who loves being in the center of it all—balancing compliance, employee relations, recruiting, and day-to-day HR operations. The HR Specialist will serve as a key resource for employees and managers, ensuring that policies are followed, questions are answered, and processes run smoothly. This position requires someone who is both people-oriented and process-driven, capable of handling sensitive matters with confidentiality while keeping the business’s HR strategy aligned with its goals. Responsibilities + Administer day-to-day HR functions including onboarding, new hire paperwork, and employee file management. + Support recruitment efforts by posting jobs, screening candidates, and coordinating interviews. + Assist with benefits administration, open enrollment, and employee questions. + Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. + Support payroll processing by reviewing timesheets and employee changes. + Provide guidance to employees on HR policies, procedures, and programs. + Assist with performance management processes and employee engagement initiatives. + Track and maintain HR metrics, ensuring data accuracy and timely reporting. + Support HR leadership with special projects and initiatives as needed. Requirements + Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. + 2–4 years of HR experience required. + Knowledge of HR laws, practices, and compliance standards. + Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite. + Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. + Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
