What You'll Do
General Position Summary:
The HR Senior Specialist is a key HR role responsible for managing a wide range of HR administrative and operational functions, with a primary focus on the Hong Kong office and backup support for the Taiwan office. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.

Internal: HKG/TAI Office Manager, BST HR & People Team, IT, Payroll, Legal, Global Benefit teamExternal: Insurance Broker, Insurance Providers, ORSO agents, Employment Agents, Immigration AgentsPrincipal Duties and Responsibilities:
Administration & Records Management
Maintain HR systems and personnel files, ensuring all personnel information and employee data are accurate, complete, and updated in a timely manner, including staff movement, status changes, and vacation tracking.Support alumni relations, including account registration and website maintenance.Prepare HR-related letters (e.g., offer letters, salary certification, reference letters).
Employee Onboarding & Offboarding
Serve as the primary point of contact for onboarding and offboarding in the Hong Kong office, with backup support for the Taiwan office.Coordinate onboarding logistics, including offer letters, probation letters, and orientation sessions.Conduct new staff orientation sessions on HR policies (e.g., insurance, leave, benefits).Support ER (Employee Relations) cases and performance-related terminations, including documentation, coordination with Legal, and ensuring compliance with local labor laws.
HR Operations & Compliance (HK and Taiwan Focus)
Serve as the main HR contact person, ensuring smooth HR operations and fully compliance. Maintain and update HR policies and assist in updating the Employee Handbook. Administer and ensure compliance with corporate policies (e.g., Employee Agreements, Insider Trading Policy)Stay informed of changes in labor-related legislation and ensure all HR operations remain compliant with local laws and regulations.Complete all HR-related tasks required by the local government, such as MPF (Mandatory Provident Fund) and labor insurance reporting and contributions.
GC Benefits Administration
Administer Greater China (Mainland, Hong Kong, and Taiwan) benefits, including PSRF and insurance benefits.Ensure compliance with global and local benefit policies.Provide employee guidance on benefit enrollment, claims, and changes.Coordinate with insurance/pension brokers and benefit vendors for benefit-related updates, renewals, and claim processing.Act as a liaison with the Global Benefits Team for overseas insurance policy implementation and all insurance policy renewals.Review and process dental, optical, and wellness (self-insured benefit items) claims with Accounting.Distribute insurance-related correspondence and coordinate annual insurance booklet renewals and updates.
Immigration Support
Coordinate and assist all mobility cases across Hong Kong (inbound or outbound), including work permit applications, extensions, and cancellations.Prepare all necessary documentation for new hires and transfers.Coordinate with external legal counsel or immigration agents for complex or high-risk immigration cases.Serve as the main contact for immigration-related inquiries.Coordinate with the home office on HR-related matters (e.g., unused vacation balance).Assist in the preparation of transfer agreements, including local labor laws and benefit plans.
Other HR Support
Support recruitment of admin staff, including contacting employment agencies, arranging interviews, and preparing rejection letters.Coordinate and arrange payment of agency fees with Accounting.Provide administrative support for the annual evaluation and salary review processes.Provide ad-hoc project support as assigned by the line manager.What You'll Bring
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in a multinational or professional services environment.Proven experience in HR administration, employee onboarding/offboarding, benefits administration, and immigration support.Experience in Hong Kong HR statutory compliance (e.g., MPF, labor insurance, employment ordinance) is essential.Familiarity with Greater China HR operations (including Mainland China and Taiwan) is a strong advantage.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong knowledge of HR systems and processes, including personnel data management, benefits administration, and compliance.Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.High level of attention to detail and accuracy in handling sensitive and confidential HR information.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels, as well as external partners and legal counsel.Fluency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin is required.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HR information systems.Ability to work independently and take initiative, while also functioning effectively as part of a team.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and apply labor laws and HR policies.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and professional HR-related documents and correspondence.Strong ethical standards and discretion, with a commitment to maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.Boston Consulting Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
