The HR Manager will play a key role in supporting day-to-day human resources operations, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance. This role requires a proactive and collaborative individual who thrives in a mission-driven environment.
ResponsibilitiesManage employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, offboarding, and employee changes.Support benefits administration including open enrollment, employee inquiries, and coordination with benefit providers.Assist with recruitment efforts including job postings, candidate screening, and interview coordination.Maintain personnel files in compliance with legal and organizational standards.Provide guidance to staff on HR policies, procedures, and employee relations matters.Support training and development initiatives.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.Participate in HR projects and process improvements.Essential SkillsHuman resources expertiseExperience with open enrollment and benefits administrationKnowledge of managing personnel files and ensuring confidentialityProficiency in employee relations and HR administrationStrong data entry and payroll skillsAdditional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)2+ years of HR experience, preferably in a nonprofit or community-based organizationKnowledge of HR best practices and employment lawsStrong organizational and communication skillsAbility to handle sensitive information with discretionProficiency in Microsoft OfficeExperience with benefits administration and open enrollment supportBilingual in Spanish strongly preferredFamiliarity with ADP or similar HR platformsWork EnvironmentThis position is based onsite and offers a small team feel, working in a mission-driven, nonprofit environment.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of San Francisco, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
