HR Generalist - Payroll focused

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is currently looking for a HR Generalist who has Paylocity experience. This is a direct hire opportunity with a world leading manufacturer of mechanical components located in Hicksville NY.
Pay: $75K
Position Overview:
The HR Generalist will play a key role in overseeing and processing payroll while supporting various human resources functions including benefits administration, compliance, and general employee support. The ideal candidate will be experienced with Paylocity (or a similar HRIS/payroll platform) and thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll (Primary Focus) Process payroll accurately and on time Manage all payroll changes including new hires, terminations, promotions, and wage adjustments Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and reporting requirements Serve as primary liaison for all payroll-related inquiries Maintain and audit payroll records for accuracy and completeness Benefits Administration Coordinate enrollment, changes, and terminations for employee benefits programs Assist employees with benefits questions or issues Support annual open enrollment and benefit compliance reporting (ACA, COBRA, etc.) General HR Duties Maintain and update employee records in Paylocity Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes Help enforce company policies and ensure legal compliance Support employee relations and HR communications Assist with HR reporting, audits, and projects as needed
Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in HR and payroll processing Strong experience with Paylocity or similar HRIS/payroll platform (Paylocity strongly preferred) Solid knowledge of payroll laws, benefits administration, and HR best practices Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required
