HR Generalist
Description The People Service Center Coordinator is responsible for supporting HR functions including administration, employee relations, policy and procedure development and education, and will be a key contributor in Varsity Brands People Resources Services Center. In this role you will help elevate the employee experience focusing on onboarding, offboarding, general HR questions, payroll, benefits, and unemployment claims. The People Service Center Coordinator will support the Manager, People Resource Service Center and will interact with all levels of employees. You will also partner with HRBP’s, and their departments in fulfilling all HR needs and other administrative tasks. A core foundation of HR knowledge and the ability to balance priorities will be key to operating successfully in the role. WHAT YOU WILL DO: Manage and respond to all internal and external HR Tier 1 inquiries or requests Escalate Tier 2 issues to departmental COE’s for resolution Promote and raise awareness to ensure that employees are effectively utilizing the direct access resources of intranet and Workday Help Manage the onboarding and offboarding aspects of the employee lifecycle Process background screens in compliance with Varsity Brands and EEOC hiring rules and standards Process and respond to employment verifications and unemployment claims Offer information about benefits, compensation, and payroll, to employees Effective front-line initial POC response in Workday Help system for addressing employee concerns Supporting a large volume of in-person inquiries at the facility Investigate employee concerns thoroughly, confidential, and timely Provide HR support for all aspects of work from the Human Resources Department Create, issue, and track new seasonal staff agreements and file properly to ensure sox compliance Provide reporting and information to other COE’s/business groups as needed Maintain New Hire Folders in shared drive Maintain DocuSign required forms Skills bilingual, Onboarding Top Skills Details bilingual,Onboarding Additional Skills & Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to handle sensitive matters and information with tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality Attention to detail, ability to multitask, remain organized and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines Self-motivated team player, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and pivot focus of responsibilities in a smooth and efficient manner Incorporate customer-centric values and SPIRIT principles into the company's mission, vision, and core values. The ability to communicate (listening, writing and verbal) across all levels of an organization efficiently and effectively. Knowledge of Federal and State Human Resource related laws and regulations. Must be comfortable with conflict resolution. Proficient in Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point required Technology savvy, a knowledge of Workday, UKG, ADP is a plus EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE Bilingual English/Spanish required. High school diploma or GED required, Associate degree preferred. 1-2 years of HR experience experience required Understanding of HR tools such as an ATS, HRIS, timekeeping and payroll processing systems. Knowledge of Federal and State Human Resource related laws and regulations. Must be comfortable with conflict resolution. Proven success to effectively communicate (listening, writing and verbal) across all levels of an organization. Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office and learning new systems/technology with understanding some work is processed manually. Experience Level Intermediate Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Prairie, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
