As Director, Human Resources, you will lead the people strategy for Smurfit Westrock’s Corrugated Container US North Atlantic Region, supporting five business areas and approximately 29 manufacturing sites. Partnering with senior leaders, you will provide strategic and operational HR leadership across the full employee lifecycle, developing a strong HR team and delivering scalable, business aligned solutions that enable growth, performance, and operational excellence.

Location: WFH in the Region + 50% travel required

Serve as a strategic business partner and trusted advisor to senior leadership, leading a broad based, transformational talent agenda that attracts, develops, and retains top talent to support growth plans and achievement of key business objectives.Design and execute HR strategies and enterprise programs with sustained, long term business impact, ensuring alignment with corporate strategies, priorities, and transformation initiatives.Build trusted, effective partnerships with business leaders and HR Centers of Excellence, proactively identifying people and process challenges and delivering integrated, pragmatic solutions grounded in a deep understanding of business needs.Measure and continuously improve the effectiveness of HR initiatives, leveraging workforce analytics and data driven insights to inform decision-making, assess outcomes, and drive continuous improvement.Act as a primary advisor on talent development and organizational design, leading and executing solutions across employee and labor relations, organizational effectiveness, performance management, workforce planning, talent acquisition, succession planning, and inclusion initiatives.Lead Inclusion and Diversity efforts, developing and implementing strategies that attract, retain, develop, and engage a diverse workforce while strengthening an inclusive culture aligned with company values.Serve as a change leader and catalyst, guiding leaders and employees through growth, transformation, and expansion while supporting the delivery of a world‑class customer and employee experience.

What you need to succeed:

Bachelor’s degree required (Human Resources, Business or related field preferred)10+ years of progressive HRBP experience in global, matrixed, manufacturing organizationsLabor Relations experience in a manufacturing environmentStrong operational and business acumen with credibility across senior and frontline leadershipProven ability to lead workforce strategy, organizational change, and performance improvementData driven, results focused leader with strong influence and execution capabilityHandson, values-based change leader aligned to safety, accountability, and continuous improvementFrequent travel required

The salary range for this position is $159,000.00 - $265,000.00, depending on your role, level, and location. The range listed is also the expected pay for roles in Illinois and Colorado. The benefits for this role include short-term bonus incentive, health, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and paid sick leave as required by applicable state/local law, 10 days of paid vacation, and 11 days of paid holidays, subject to annual change.
