HR Director
Description We are looking for an experienced and dynamic HR Director to provide strategic leadership and innovation in human resources for our higher education client in Columbia, South Carolina. This role involves overseeing all HR functions to enhance organizational effectiveness, foster employee engagement, and ensure compliance with legal regulations. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with senior leadership to develop and implement policies and programs that align with the institution’s mission and long-term goals. Responsibilities: • Develop and implement strategic human resources policies and practices that align with the institution's mission, vision, and values. • Lead all HR functions, including talent management, succession planning, employee engagement, diversity, and performance management. • Collaborate with senior leadership to create centralized training programs that promote continuous growth and development for faculty and staff. • Oversee the Human Resources team in delivering comprehensive services, administering policies, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. • Maintain a thorough understanding of HR-related laws and regulations, advising leadership on their implications and required actions. • Provide guidance on workforce planning and recruitment strategies to build a diverse and inclusive organizational culture. • Design and execute initiatives to improve employee retention and satisfaction. • Act as the primary liaison for legal matters related to human resources and ensure adherence to best practices. • Assist with special projects and prepare detailed reports as needed. • Stay updated on industry trends and expand expertise through ongoing training and development initiatives. Requirements • Proven experience in a senior HR leadership role, preferably in a higher education setting. • Extensive knowledge of human resources disciplines, including talent management, employee relations, compensation, and benefits. • Strong understanding of state and federal employment laws and regulations. • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage HR teams effectively. • Expertise in developing training programs and fostering growth and development. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with leadership and staff. • Ability to implement diversity and inclusion initiatives. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to create innovative HR strategies.
