Job Description

Position Title

Director, HR

Reporting to the Head of HR for the Infrastructure Group, the HR Director will be part of a lean team that is focused on delivering practical and commercial HR advice and support. You will be accountable for 1) leading HR for the corporate operations group in the Toronto HQ office and 2) leading the execution of global initiatives particularly focused on compensation and organizational design and planning. The HR Director will have a natural penchant to roll up their sleeves and provide solutions-oriented support to our client groups. You will also be balanced by having a strong interest in data analytics and comfort with handing data and has interest in leveraging the same to support the business with decision making. You will be supported by two HR Associates and will serve as a mentor to the broader junior HR and HR Services teams in conjunction with local leadership.

Responsibilities

Understands and embraces the operating philosophy and culture of the organization and acts as a role model

Serves as a trusted HR business partner under a generalist to assigned business groups with a strong focus on development and supporting our team members on job enrichment and expansion

Leads the global execution on efforts related to performance management, compensation including fund carried interest plans, and organizational design and planning including headcount forecasting and reporting

Partners with business leaders to meet business growth, including talent forecasting, defining roles, talent attraction strategy, interviewing and selection, and ensuring a positive welcome and integration of new team members

Supports and drives the Annual Talent Cycle including coordination and communication of goal setting, performance discussions, talent assessment, compensation, and promotions

Leads and executes

Works with client groups and leaders to facilitate upward development and retention of our team members

Facilitates the embedment of diversity, inclusion, and engagement in our talent development and talent attraction strategies

Participates and takes an active leadership role in developing HR programs, globally and locally

Participates in developing goals to meet business needs, recommend new approaches, review, revise and communicate policies and programs to support continuous improvement

Requirements

Experience

Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience as a Human Resources Business Partner in a global, matrixed, and fast paced environment

Bachelor degree; certifications and course work in specific area of HR expertise preferred

Working knowledge of HR and employee relations best practices

Experience working across various HR disciplines including leading and delivering complex projects

Experience working with and supporting Asset Management and/or Financial Services client groups is desirable

Proficiency and demonstrated experience using a HRIS, Workday preferred
