HR Coordinator
Job Title: HR CoordinatorJob Description The HR Coordinator supports a wide range of human resources activities in a manufacturing and aerospace production environment, with a strong focus on onboarding, HR administration, compliance, and employee support. This role manages key HR processes, maintains accurate HRIS and personnel records, ensures adherence to California labor and wage regulations, and provides bilingual support in English and Spanish for employees and leaders across the organization. Responsibilities + Coordinate and support full-cycle onboarding, including preparing and collecting new hire paperwork, organizing and facilitating orientation, and ensuring timely system setup for new employees. + Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee personnel files and HRIS records in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. + Assist with timekeeping and attendance tracking for hourly employees and provide payroll support to ensure accurate and timely pay processing. + Provide support related to California meal and rest break compliance, wage and hour regulations, and required labor law postings. + Assist with workers’ compensation claims, including documentation, follow-up, and coordination of return-to-work activities in the HRIS system as a backup to the EHS Safety Specialist or Manager. + Support recruitment efforts by posting job openings, screening and coordinating candidates, scheduling interviews, and maintaining communication throughout the hiring process. + Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits, providing clear and timely information and guidance. + Translate HR communications and assist with employee interactions for Spanish-speaking employees to ensure understanding of HR policies, processes, and programs. + Assist with employee relations matters, including gathering information, supporting investigations, and preparing documentation as needed. + Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive employee and company information at all times. + Support ITAR compliance requirements by ensuring proper documentation and employment eligibility verification for applicable roles. + Coordinate employee training sessions, safety programs, and related compliance documentation to support regulatory and internal requirements. + Assist with audits and reporting related to HR compliance, labor regulations, and internal HR metrics. + Run daily and weekly HR reports as needed to support operations, compliance, and leadership decision-making. + Perform other HR-related duties as assigned to support the needs of the department and organization. Essential Skills + Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (required), with the ability to translate HR communications and support Spanish-speaking employees. + Minimum of 2+ years of HR administrative or HR coordinator experience. + Experience using HRIS systems, including maintaining employee records and supporting HR workflows. + Experience providing payroll support and working with timekeeping systems for hourly employees. + Knowledge of California labor laws and wage and hour regulations, including meal and rest break requirements. + Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. + Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with employees, supervisors, and management. + Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle issues with sound judgment. + Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion. + High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation, reporting, and data entry. + Customer service mindset with the ability to support employees and internal stakeholders in a responsive and professional manner. + Proficiency with basic office software, including spreadsheets (such as Excel), for data entry and reporting. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience working in manufacturing, aerospace, or industrial environments is preferred. + Background in HR administration, HR coordination, or similar HR support roles. + Experience supporting workers’ compensation processes and return-to-work coordination is beneficial. + Familiarity with ITAR compliance requirements and employment eligibility verification is an advantage. + Strong administrative support and data entry skills, with the ability to manage documentation and records efficiently. + Ability to build positive working relationships with production employees, supervisors, and management. + Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. Work Environment This role operates in a manufacturing and aerospace production environment with regular interaction with production employees, supervisors, and management. The HR Coordinator spends time both in an office setting handling administrative and HRIS tasks and on the production floor supporting employees and HR initiatives. The position requires walking the production floor and following all safety protocols and procedures. The environment is fast-paced and collaborative, with a strong focus on safety, compliance, and supporting employees in their day-to-day work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lynwood, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
