HR Client Services, Payroll Director
Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy -

Develop and implement a scalable payroll operating model that supports service delivery to a diverse set of nonprofit clients.

Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for payroll accuracy, timeliness, compliance, and client satisfaction.

Identify and lead initiatives to improve operational efficiency, automation, and quality control across the payroll function.

Operational Oversight -

Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for multiple clients across various pay cycles (biweekly, semi-monthly, monthly).

Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll laws, including wage and hour rules, tax filings, garnishments, and benefits reporting.

Manage the implementation, configuration, and optimization of payroll platforms (e.g., ADP, Paylocity, UKG, etc.).

Maintain robust internal controls and ensure audit readiness for all client payroll processes.

Team Development -

Lead, coach, and support a team of payroll professionals and team leads, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning.

Oversee training, performance management, and professional development within the payroll team.

Client Management -

Act as the senior point of contact for client payroll questions, escalations, and complex compliance matters.

Partner with client HR and finance teams to ensure seamless integration between payroll and other functions.

Deliver proactive insights and reporting to clients on payroll trends, issues, and improvement opportunities.
