Job Description

As an HR & Benefits Administrator, you will serve as a key partner to leadership and employees alike. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on across benefits, payroll, and recruiting, is comfortable with HR technology, and thrives in an onsite, relationship-driven environment. This position has been created to provide bench strength within HR as the organization plans for future retirement and continued growth. The team is seeking someone who is engaged, outgoing, detail-oriented, and eager to learn, with a genuine interest in employee benefits and HR operations.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary contact for employee benefit questions, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement programs.Administer benefits through the HRIS, including new hires, terminations, qualifying life events, and open enrollments.Communicate with insurance carriers and brokers; navigate carrier portals and HR systems to ensure accuracy and compliance.Test and audit benefit and payroll calculations to ensure accuracy.Maintain employee records, benefits files, and confidential documentation.Support payroll processing with the opportunity to grow into full payroll ownership over time.Assist with auditing payroll data and coordinating updates within the HR system.Support recruiting efforts for a small number of roles at a time (typically 1–2 openings).Coordinate phone screens, onsite interviews, and candidate communications.Assist with onboarding and offboarding, ensuring a smooth employee experience.Work within ERP and HRIS platforms (including Paylocity).Utilize Excel for reporting, auditing, and data tracking.Support HR technology initiatives and process improvements.

Essential Skills

Background in benefits administration.Exposure to payroll processes.Experience supporting recruiting efforts.Comfort working onsite in a manufacturing environment.Strong communication skills; well-spoken, approachable, and professional.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Hands-on experience with Paylocity.HR or related degree.Experience working in ERP systems.Interest in growing long-term within an HR function.

Work Environment

The work schedule is onsite, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. The office is a modernized space currently being remodeled, offering a private office workspace within a clean, well-maintained manufacturing environment. There is a strong investment in technology and innovation, providing long-term stability with succession planning in mind and direct exposure to senior leadership.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Stratford, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.73 - $38.46/hr.
