Job Description:
The HR Assistant will support HR activities, employee engagement, policy administration, company-wide programs, coordinating site-wide HR communication, delivering site specific programs, assisting with recruiting & onboarding. This role performs other duties as assigned by management and within the Company’s safety, health and environmental regulations. This is a developmental role and the role holder is expected to gain a thorough understanding of all aspects of HR. Must be effective communicator, engaging with the employee, and ensures the Site HR Partner is fully aware of site HR activities.
Responsibilities:
Recruitment, Selection and OnboardingSupport site HR Partner with recruitment and onboarding. All administrative support as necessary such as creating offer letters, new hire packages, updating or sending out documentation, etc.Coordinate HR and management interview schedules and feedback on cross-department selection for full-time and temporary employeesInitiate, track and raise any issues with the HR Partner on background investigations and drug screens for all new hiresCreate and obtain approvals on employee changesEnter new hires and promotions into payroll systemConduct new hire orientationMaintain current and relevant materials through updates to all promotional items and presentationsPrepare and distribute announcements for new hires and internal movementAll other duties as assigned by management.Employee RelationsFirst line for employee questions for benefits, HR general inquiries, etc.Collaborate with local employees and Site HR Partner on Employee Engagement initiativesAct on behalf of corporate HR to manage corporate initiatives within the local community and onsite, and promote volunteerism and community-based activitiesMaintain all spreadsheets up to and including educational reimbursements, 1% club tracking, etc.Administration & SupportMaintenance of bulletin boards and television messagesCreate memos for promotions and increasesCoordinate LOA actions with managersManage and maintain all local employee HR files and systemsOther day-to-day HR functions, projects and support as neededEducation: Bachelor Degree
Bachelor Degree preferredExperience: 12 months
