Housekeeping - Common & Commercial Cleaner - Lead Hand

You are an essential part of the Housekeeping team, and as Common & Commercial team lead, you will ensure the cleanliness of various common and commercial areas by maintaining a schedule of regular walk-throughs of buildings & areas, whilst completing touchups as needed or any other duties as specified. You will spend time helping the Attendants in cleaning & maintaining their specific areas, as well as providing training to our lodging attendants as they rotate housekeeping duties on a weekly/biweekly basis.

 

Essential Functions:

Establish and maintain a positive and fun work environment. Keep lines of communication open! To maintain & organize Comms rooms with the required tools, equipment & chemicals. Must meet or exceed productivity thresholds relative to pre-determined time allotments and quality standards for specific areas set by Management or Strata’s, and audit same. Ensure housekeeping standards are met and maintained in all facilities, and report shortcomings/faults to the Manager or Supervisors. Participate in all Occupational Health and Safety standards set for the department. Check in with Management/supervisor to ensure all Common / Commercial contracts are being met and exceeded! Duties may also include the following: Sweep, mop & wash floors Wash windows, walls, fixtures & appliances Vacuum carpeting & dust surrounding areas. Clean & disinfect public areas such as kitchens, washrooms, change rooms & elevators. Pick up debris and empty trash containers. Attending guest’s requests for extra supplies & provide basic information on resort.

 

 

Experience/Requirements:

Previous hospitality background preferred, but not required. High School Diploma Must be able to work with cleaning chemicals and be able to wear gloves, WHIMIS an asset. Must be available for full-time year-round work. Able to multi-task, work well under stress and meet targeted deadlines. Must be flexible and adaptable under changing conditions, priorities, and unexpected situations. Must be able to work independently. Must have good training skills and be able to motivate and organize team members. Must be able to work a flexible shifts, weekends, holidays.  This position may require overtime and altered scheduling according to occupancy. Must possess safe work habits with an awareness of safe work procedures. Must be able to work with cleaning chemicals. Being able to lift 35lbs, push, pull & lift heavy objects for prolonged periods of time.
