Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
This position is responsible for multiple units and supervises employees engaged in the cleaning of all areas of the Hospital. Communicates with Manager any issues with employee’s performance, changes with work assignments, maintenance work needing contracted; other duties as assigned.Orders flat linen daily and stocks linen supply room.Orders supplies from Material Management. Monitors weekly inventory of paper products and chemicals to ensure proper supply on hand.Trains and precepts housekeepers in performance of duties.When applicable, ensures contracted service crew completes assigned work and quality of work.Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.Cleans offices, patient rooms, common areas, lavatories, halls, food service areas and other areas as needed.Cleans light fixtures, ceilings, vents, mattresses, furniture, window coverings, floors and carpets.Cleans by dusting, mopping, vacuuming and sweeping.Replenishes supplies. Takes care of floors including stripping, waxing and shampooing.Promotes effective teamwork.Displays professional behavior and positive attitude at all times.Adheres to organizational policies and procedures.Effectively manages hospital resources (time, supplies, equipment, etc.).Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.These statements are intended to describe the essential functions of the job and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities.
