Where You Will Work:

The West Allis Internal Float Pool House Supervisor provides leadership and administrative oversight for nursing and patient care services within the float pool. This role ensures effective coordination of care, supports clinical decision-making, and maintains high standards of patient safety and quality. Acting as a liaison between hospital administration, nursing teams, and other departments, the supervisor fosters collaboration and operational efficiency. Additionally, the position offers clinical expertise to staff and assists in identifying resources to meet patient needs.

We’re Looking For:

Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursingRegistered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practicesBasic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart AssociationBachelor’s Degree in NursingTypically requires 3 years of experience in clinical nursing with demonstrated clinical expertise

What You’ll Do:

Provide leadership and administrative oversight for nursing and patient care services across multiple units.Act as a clinical resource for staff, assisting with patient-related clinical problems and service issues.Respond to critical clinical situations, including Code 4, admissions, transfers, and monitoring unstable patients.Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care and resource utilization.Serve as a patient advocate by addressing and resolving patient and visitor concerns.Investigate patient incidents and medication errors, ensuring proper documentation and corrective action plans.·Identify and report trends in system issues to unit managers for resolution.Facilitate timely patient flow by assisting with admissions, transfers, and discharges; obtain reports and evaluate patient status.Reassign staff or transfer patients as needed to accommodate admissions and maintain care standards.Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.Act as liaison between nursing, hospital administration, and other departments to ensure quality care processes.Respond to internal and external public relations issues, including media inquiries, and escalate to appropriate departments.Intervene during emergencies in the absence of Safety or Patient Safety Officers when conditions threaten life, health, or facility integrity.Perform patient positioning and transport duties using proper techniques.Demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care, applying principles of growth and development across the lifespan.
