Overview A Houseperson assists the housekeeping team by maintaining cleanliness and service throughout the hotel’s corridors, public areas, and guest floors. Responsibilities typically include: Supporting Room Attendants with guest room preparation and guest requests Conducting rounds of hallways and public spaces—removing trash, debris, and service trays, restocking amenities Maintaining carts and supply areas, and restocking linen and supplies as needed Reporting maintenance issues, damage, lost or found items Engaging courteously with guests and responding to special requests promptly Following hotel safety and cleanliness standards, including reporting hazards and respecting guest property Performing other duties as assigned by housekeeping leadership Qualifications Physical stamina: Must be able to lift and carry up to 40–50 lbs, push and pull carts, and stand or walk for extended periods Detail‑oriented & responsible: Must maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and careful handling of equipment and guest areas Communication & teamwork: Work cooperatively with housekeepers, supervisors, and other hotel departments; respond swiftly to requests and coordinate tasks effectively Adaptability & safety awareness: Follow housekeeping procedures, safety guidelines (e.g., handling cleaning chemicals, identifying hazards), and respond professionally to guests and staff Experience: Hotel or housekeeping experience is preferred but not required—entry‑level candidates will be considered Dependability: Consistent attendance and punctuality are required; weekend availability is often needed Compensation Range The compensation for this position is $17.00/Hr. - $17.00/Hr. based on qualifications and experience.
