House Keeping Assistant

Maintains a clean, sanitary environment, minimizing any infection risk. Promotes and enhances the

safety of patients, families, and staff. Maintains standards of operational practice. Maintains a

professional appearance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 Cleans and services patient rooms, baths, offices, dining rooms,

 and other ancillary areas.

o Dusts furniture and equipment.

o Cleans windows and windowsills.

o Empties and washes trash receptacles.

o Cleans beds, rails, and springs.

o Maintains furniture and equipment

 Cleans bathtubs, showers, sinks, toilets, mirrors, drinking fountains, and similar equipment.

Replenishes supplies of soap, toilet tissue, and hand towels in all areas of the center

 Polishes metal, cleans glass panels, washes walls and baseboards.

 Cleans, mops, and buffs floors and corridors. Cleans carpets.

 Maintains knowledge of and is efficient in floor stripping and refinishing

 Ensures odor control.

 Keeps utility and storage rooms clean and in good order. Keeps all housekeeping equipment

clean. Maintains all cleaning solutions in a locked cabinet.

 Inspects all rooms/areas for safety violations or damage and reports these issues to the

supervisor.

 Promote safety precautions in all work areas.

 Understands patient rights.

 Demonstrates respect for patients and center property.

 Understands departmental duties regarding disaster and emergency preparedness.

 Establishes and maintains good interdepartmental working relations.

 Enters work orders in the preventative maintenance program: TELS.

 Reports all instances of abuse or neglect or other concerns to management.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 Attends and participates in orientation, training, and in-service education, and staff meetings.

Ensure all mandatory training is completed on time

 Performs other duties as necessary for the successful operation of the center.
