Job Description

Oaks Queenstown Shores Resort are looking for a full time Hotel Receptionist who is passionate about providing excellent customer service to join the team. 

The moment a guest steps into our hotel you will make them feel at home with your welcoming and warm presence. You have the important job of guiding guests through their stay, from smooth check-ins and check-outs to insights on the local attractions and eateries, you will be remembered for your superb customer service and positive energy. 

Key Responsibilities Include:

Greet guests with warmth and enthusiasm upon their arrival, creating a welcoming atmosphere while facilitating a seamless check-in experience and promptly addressing any initial questions or requests.Maintain clear and courteous communication with guests, colleagues, and stakeholders across various channels, including in-person, phone, and email.Oversee the accurate processing of guest reservations, updates, and special requests, utilising property management systems to ensure seamless scheduling and availability.Provide exceptional service by serving a variety of drinks and snacks in the lounge area, ensuring a warm, welcoming and comfortable environment for all guests.Foster meaningful connections by engaging with guests to understand their preferences and interest. Book tailored activities and provide personalised recommendations to enhance their experience and make their stay truly memorable.Contribute to creating experiences beyond expectations that reflect the organisation's commitment to outstanding guest satisfaction - Minor things matter! Act as a primary point of contact for guests throughout their stay, offering prompt assistance, resolving issues, and providing personalised recommendations to enhance their experience.

Expected minimum hours: 30 hours per week

Location: 327/343 Frankton Road, Queenstown 9300, New Zealand

Hourly range: $24.50 - $26.50 per hour. (excluding contributions to KiwiSaver). Payment of wages will be processed on a fortnightly basis by direct credit to your nominated bank account.

Annual salary range approximate: $38,220- $41,340 (excluding contributions to KiwiSaver).

Reporting to: Front Office Manager

Breaks: Employees are entitled to paid rest breaks and unpaid meal breaks based on the number of hours worked. Breaks will be taken at times agreed to by the employer and employee or when the law says breaks must be taken. Leave Entitlements: As per Employment New Zealand - Leave and holidays | Employment New Zealand and Holidays Act 2003.

Period of Notice: Four weeks

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience: 

0-6 months experience in a similar role delivering high-quality service within a hotel environment will be highly regardedExceptional ability to articulate information clearly and effectively across various mediums, ensuring precise and professional correspondence.Consistently delivers an exceptional standard of service, exhibiting a proactive and positive approach to addressing guest needs and exceeding expectations.Adept at fostering positive guest experiences and maintaining high satisfaction levels through attentive service and problem resolution.Maintains a polished and professional presentation, reflecting the values and standards of the organisation.Fully committed to a dynamic work schedule, including the ability to work weekends, public holidays, and varying shifts to meet operational requirements.

1. Work Eligibility Employment begins on the commencement date and continues until terminated under the Letter of Offer Legal work eligibility in New Zealand is required at all times.

2. Remuneration & Deductions Pay and benefits are as outlined in Schedule 1. Reasonable work-related expenses are reimbursed. The company may deduct amounts owed from your pay following consultation. KiwiSaver contributions comply with legal requirements.

3. Suspension & Termination The company may suspend you (paid or unpaid) for investigations or terminate employment per notice in Schedule 1. Immediate termination applies for serious misconduct or other specified reasons. Garden leave may apply during the notice period.

4. Redundancy No redundancy compensation is provided, but notice or payment in lieu is given. Offers of similar employment may exclude redundancy provisions.

5. Confidentiality & Intellectual Property Confidential information and intellectual property created during employment belong to the company. Disclosure or use outside duties requires written consent.

6. Conflict of Interest Secondary employment and potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed and approved.

7. Health & Safety Compliance with health and safety laws, policies, and personal fitness for work is mandatory.

8. Policies & Disputes You must adhere to company policies. Employment issues are resolved per Employment New Zealand framework.
