Hosting Enterprise Lead (Compute & Platform)

Job Summary
The Hosting Enterprise Lead is responsible for providing strategic and technical leadership for enterprise hosting and compute infrastructure. This role oversees the design, implementation, and operational management of on-premises and cloud-based hosting platforms to ensure high availability, performance, scalability, security, and operational stability. The Hosting Enterprise Lead defines technical direction and standards across physical, virtual, and cloud environments (including Azure and Oracle) and serves as a senior escalation point and advisor for complex infrastructure initiatives.
Essential Functions of the Role
Provide technical and strategic leadership for enterprise hosting, compute, and virtualization platforms across on-premises and cloud environments.Define, govern, and enforce enterprise standards for host hardware, operating systems, virtualization platforms, patching, lifecycle management, and automation.Lead architecture, design, and implementation of highly available, resilient, and scalable hosting solutions supporting mission-critical systems.Oversee capacity planning, performance analysis, and availability assessments to support business continuity and growth.Partner closely with Architecture, Network, Storage, Database, Application, and Information Security teams to deliver integrated infrastructure solutions.Guide disaster recovery strategy and execution at the compute and operating system layers, including testing and continuous improvement.Evaluate emerging hosting, compute, and platform technologies and provide recommendations aligned with long-term infrastructure and modernization roadmaps.Provide technical leadership and direction to hosting and platform engineering teams, including mentoring, design review, and escalation support.Lead technical aspects of large-scale infrastructure initiatives, including data center modernization, cloud adoption, and platform upgrades.Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and industry standards through collaboration with Information Security.Maintain enterprise hosting roadmaps, architectural documentation, operational standards, and performance metrics.Communicate technical strategy, risks, and progress effectively to IS leadership and key stakeholders.Key Success Factors

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.Seven (7) or more years of progressive IT experience with a strong emphasis on hosting, compute, or infrastructure platforms.Advanced knowledge of enterprise operating systems including Windows Server, Linux, and AIX.Extensive experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere and cloud compute platforms (Azure and/or Oracle).Strong understanding of enterprise server hardware, networking fundamentals, and storage technologies.Experience with automation and scripting technologies (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, or similar).Minimum Qualifications
