VCA Becker Animal Hospital is seeking an exceptional Hospital Manager to Lead and Inspire our professional team. We are a high-volume, 24/7 veterinary hospital offering both emergency and general practice services in San Antonio. We have 10+ doctors and over 120 associates. The Veterinary Hospital Administrator is responsible for the overall operational leadership of the hospital. This role ensures smooth day-to-day functioning, supports clinical teams, manages administrative staff, and drives strategic initiatives to improve efficiency, profitability, and employee engagement. We are looking for an experienced Positive visionary leader who can lead a large team of professionals and has the ability to be an agile change agent. Must love working with people.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
Oversee daily hospital operations across emergency and general practice departmentsEnsure compliance with veterinary regulations, OSHA standards, and hospital protocolsMonitor and maintain inventory, equipment, and facility needsFinancial Management
Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reportsAnalyze KPIs and implement strategies to improve revenue and cost controlCollaborate with accounting and finance teams on billing, payroll, and vendor contractsMeet financial expectations and goalsHuman Resources
Recruit, onboard, and retain top-tier veterinary and support staffManage scheduling, performance evaluations, and conflict resolutionFoster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvementClient Experience
Ensure exceptional customer service and client communicationAddress escalated client concerns and feedback professionallySupport marketing and community outreach initiativesStrategic Planning

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field (Master’s a plus)Certified Veterinary Practice Manager Certification is a plusMinimum of 5 years of leadership experience in veterinary or hospital administrationStrong financial acumen and HR people skillsExcellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilitiesFamiliarity with veterinary software is a plusOther Skills
