POSITION SUMMARY The Hospital Liaison is responsible for generating and managing leads in referral hospitals and other referral settings to ensure smooth discharge process for patients transitioning to post-acute services. The Hospital Liaison will develop strong professional relationships with referral sources and identify new opportunities for partnerships and growth.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES Meets or exceeds targeted monthly inquiry and census budget goals. Develops and maintains a positive professional relationship with assigned referral sources to gain viable referrals for admission. Educate Acute Care Providers and other referral sources about all facility services, accreditations, awards, recognitions, clinical capabilities, specialty programs, and desired type of admissions. Understand and use positive trend analysis when meeting with hospital referral sources and prospective residents and responsible parties. Use marketing team feedback re: non-viable inquiries to educate referral sources on the types of patients you cannot admit and why. Maintain a strong working relationship with attending physicians in area hospitals to promote specialty services within the organization. Meet with prospective patients and their responsible parties to discuss targeted programs, arrange for a facility visit, and utilize marketing materials and newsletters as appropriate. Participate in weekly marketing meetings and other meetings as required and provide feedback on market conditions and any/all feedback from referral sources. Adhere to the established system/uniform process in the handling of all customer referrals. Submit weekly/monthly activity tracking and expense reports as required. Identify barriers to census development and bring them to the marketing meetings for discussion along with proposed solutions.
PREREQUISITES & PREFERRED SKILLS Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred. Hospital liaison/marketing experience preferred. Must have own vehicle and ability to travel as needed. Must be flexible to respond to referrals during off-peak hours as needed. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
