Full-Time – Hospital Administrator

Maryland Heights Center for Behavioral Health – Are you a passionate healthcare leader looking to improve behavioral health in your community? We would like for you to consider our opportunity to help open our new hospital and carry out our vision of bringing communities, healthcare providers, and families together to improve behavioral health, one patient at a time. We provide psychiatric care to geriatric patients who require inpatient hospitalization due to mental disorders like cognitive illnesses. Our 20-bed hospital will be adjacent to NHC HealthCare Maryland Heights, a 220-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation center.

As Administrator, you will be instrumental in leading our team to fulfill the mission, vision, and goals of the Program and Hospital. Your duties include development and implementation of a quality treatment program, compliance to all standards of operation by regulatory agencies, management of the facility and related equipment, the budget, the development of a comprehensive community relations and education program, and the supervision of the program staff and their compliance to expected competencies. You will be responsible for the fulfillment of all agreements between the Hospital and any other Program/Service Providers, including Host Facility, as well as the financial viability of the Hospital.

Qualifications:

Experience: Must have hospital lead experience, psych preferred. Education: Master's Degree or equivalent from an accredited university in Social/Behavioral Science, Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business in Healthcare, or a related field approved by the President.

Training

Demonstrated abilities in physician relations, human resources, program development, finance, and clinical operations within the past five years. 2. Eligible and acceptable to meet the expectations of the Hospital. Experience: Three (3) years post master’s degree clinical and/or administrative experience.

Position Highlights:

The administrator shall organize the administrative functions of the Hospital, delegate duties and establish formal means of accountability on the part of subordinates. S/he shall provide for department/committee meetings and attend or be represented at these meetings. The Administrator has no control over the professional staff in the exercising of their professional judgment. S/he is required to bring to the attention of the President or the Medical Executive Committee and/or the Governing Body, any failure by members of the staff to conform to established Hospital policies regarding administrative matters, professional standards, and maintenance of adequate clinical records. There shall be a staff development program consisting of orientation, in-service education, and continuing education under direction of qualified person(s). The Administrator shall ensure that all personnel records are accurate and up to date, including job applications, professional licensing information and health information. The Administrator shall, with approval from the Governing Committee, delegate an individual duly qualified to act in his/her capacity during his/her absence. Coordinate the selection, hiring, termination, and orientation of all employees associated with the Program. Ensure all employees are competent to perform tasks associated with their job specifications. Provide performance feedback to all employees (positive and areas needing improvement) and complete employee evaluations in the appropriate time frame. Schedule and coordinate monthly staff meetings with staff input on the agenda. Provide a safe working environment for employees ensuring requested repairs or replacements of equipment are evaluated immediately. Maintain employee records in accordance with proper standards and regulations. Implement and ensure ongoing staff in-service training program
