About this Role

IFS InfraSource is seeking a seasoned HDD Manager to lead trenchless construction operations across North America. In this role, you’ll oversee large-scale horizontal directional drilling projects, managing multiple crews and ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution. You’ll be instrumental in identifying new market opportunities, optimizing field operations, and driving project success using drill rigs with pullback capacities up to 100,000 lbs.

What You'll Do Field OperationsLead field safety, quality control, and environmental complianceManage planning and execution of long-run, large-diameter HDD installationsSupervise drill operators, mud crews, and support teamsMaintain project schedules and deliverablesOversee rig setup, bore planning, mud mixing, and drilling executionTroubleshoot operational issues and implement effective solutionsTrain and mentor crews on safe and productive drilling practicesEnsure equipment is maintained and operationalCommunicate proactively with superintendents and project managers to resolve challengesCollaborate with clients, engineers, and stakeholders to align project goalsBusiness DevelopmentIdentify and pursue future HDD project opportunitiesSupport estimating and cost analysis for trenchless bidsContribute to early-stage planning, procurement, and constructability reviews What You'll Bring 10+ years of hands-on experience in HDD field supervisionProven leadership of crews working to contract specifications and jurisdictional codesExperience with drill rigs ranging from 10,000 lbs to 100,000 lbs pullback forceStrong understanding of cost control, logistics, and project schedulingPassion for safety and operational excellenceBackground in client relations, estimating, and business developmentExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsWillingness to travel and relocate as needed across our footprint Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends What You'll Get Competitive compensation with performance-based incentives.Comprehensive benefits: health, dental, vision.401(k) plan with employer match.Generous paid time off and holidays.Career growth opportunities within a fast-growing renewable energy company.Supportive and collaborative work environment.
