As a Homecare Delivery Install Technician, you are responsible for transporting and retrieving respiratory therapy medical supplies to/from the homes of Cleveland Clinic patients, including oxygen concentrators, oxygen cylinders and aerosol compressors.  You will also provide instructions on the operation, cleaning and safety of each piece of equipment, ensuring both patients and their families feel comfortable handling their own care. In this role, you have an excellent opportunity to make a difference in the lives of everyone you meet, all while developing new skills on an encouraging and supportive healthcare team. You would begin in Independence and then cover routes throughout 14 counties, ranging as far as the Pennsylvania border, Sandusky and down to Lodi.

A caregiver in this role works days from 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. with on-call availability and rotating weekend requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Perform pre-delivery quality assurance testing and assessment of all equipment. 

Perform delivery, set up and pick up home medical equipment. 

Provide initial product safety and set up information for all new patients in verbal and written form. 

Lift and set up oxygen tanks – sometimes delivering 10+ large tanks.

Provide an initial safety assessment of the home environment. 

Communicate pertinent information to team members.

Store supplies and equipment on vehicles securely and safely according to DOT, OSHA, TJC and other regulatory groups. 

Handle hazardous materials safely according to FDA regulations. 

Maintain delivery of vehicle safety, efficiency and cleanliness. 

Provide ongoing scheduled maintenance of equipment according to guidelines. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   

High School Diploma/GED 

Valid Driver’s License (VDL) with a good driving record and insurance eligibility as determined by requirements to operate Foundation vehicles 

Customer service experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   

One year of experience in a related specialty or home care business 

Prior hospital experience

Physical Requirements:

Able to lift 75 pounds, load and unload trucks, sit or stand for the majority of a workday, bend kneel or crouch to set up and move equipment and use 2 wheeler safely.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
