Home Mortgage Default Cash Operations Specialist performs accounting functions for internal business lines such as Loss Mitigation Foreclosure, Litigation, Bankruptcy. Default Cash Operations Specialist completes processes in accordance with investor/insurer guidelines and statutory requirements. Accounting functions are often complex and multi-layered and must be completed in a manner that protects our ability to file and collect investor/insurer Claims. Specialist will assist with all facets of Investor Operations to include Claims, Invoice Processing, Corporate Advance, General Ledger Reconciliation and Delinquency Reporting.
Primary responsibilities include:
+ Completing Loan Modification Capitalization and Contributions
+ Completing Loss Mitigation Partial Claims cash processing.
+ Completing Investor Payment Deferrals and other investor/insurer workout types
+ Processing Loss Mitigation Short Sales and litigated Short payoffs.
+ Processing Suspense funds and Payment reversals
+ Researching and Reconciling General Ledger accounts
+ Researching Recoverable and Non-recoverable Corp Advances
+ Completing Foreclosure and Deed-in-lieu Removals
+ Maintain accurate records for audit readiness and investor/insurer reporting.
+ Assisting management with various projects and other Investor Operations functions as needed
+ Meeting processing deadlines to ensure compliance with department SLAs, policies, procedures, and/or regulatory and risk requirements.
+ Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and clarifications.
+ Communicate with internal departments (foreclosure, bankruptcy, loss mitigation, REO) to gather required documentation and resolve discrepancies.
Key Success factors include:
+ Knowledge of Loss Mitigation Retention and Liquidation options
+ Knowledge of the Foreclosure process and state and statutory Foreclosure requirements
+ Knowledge of Bankruptcy processes
+ Ability to solve complex accounting issues.
+ Ability to multi- task and meet firm deadlines.
+ Ability to adapt procedures, processes, and techniques to the completion of assignments.
+ Able to independently apply competencies in routine and more complex situations.
+ Knowledge of the Investor/Insurer and MI companies reporting requirements and deadlines
Qualifications/Required Skills/Experience:
+ 2 to 4 years of experience with Mortgage Servicing Operations
+ Knowledge of the Foreclosure, Loss Mitigation, Bankruptcy and Collection process
+ Ability to develop and deliver presentations.
+ Ability to work independently and have strong analytic skills.
+ Ability to adapt procedures, processes, and techniques to the completion of assignments.
+ Able to independently apply competencies in routine and more complex situations.
+ Work closely with Investor Reporting, Default Claims as well as all other Default Business lines.
+ Ability to manage competing priorities.
+ Knowledge of MSP/ Loan Sphere
+ Advanced Microsoft office skills (Excel/Word/PowerPoint)
+ Knowledge of regulatory expectations, risk exposure level, compliance deficiencies audit requirements.
+ Knowledge of strategic analytics, enterprise-wide impacts, and concepts.
+ Education-Certifications and/or other professional Credentials: HS Diploma, College degree, Associates degree and/or minimum of 3 years mortgage servicing experience
Hours & Work Schedule
Hours per week: 40
Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 8:30am-5:00pm
*This is 4 days in the office hybrid position after successful training period*
