Home Loan Specialist Position Summary The Home Loan Specialist is an entry-level role responsible for supporting multiple business channels within the home lending process. In this position, you will play a key part in ensuring smooth, accurate, and customer-focused loan operations. You will contribute to efficient workflows, maintain data integrity, and help deliver a positive borrower experience. Key Responsibilities + Accurately perform routine data entry, validation, and document processing tasks. + Initiate and track third‑party service orders (including title, appraisal, hazard insurance, flood certifications, credit reports, etc.). + Review, validate, and prepare loan documents to support underwriting and closing activities. + Respond to routine inquiries via phone, email, and/or chat with professionalism and clarity. + Monitor assigned work queues, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and take action to maintain timely workflow progression. + Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues and support overall loan processing efficiency. + Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned. + Demonstrate behaviors that reflect the organization’s culture, values, and commitment to exceptional service. Required Skills & Competencies + Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies in documents or data. + Excellent organizational and time‑management skills. + Clear written and verbal communication. + Ability to manage repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy. + Customer‑centric mindset and a collaborative working style. + Basic understanding of financial or lending processes (preferred but not required). Preferred Qualifications + Mortgage or home lending experience is strongly preferred. + Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related field or relevant financial services experience. + Candidates with strong office administration or operational experience, particularly in a financial environment, will also be considered.
