Schedule: Monday-Friday 2:30AM-11:00AM

Responsibilities

Process human tissue and body fluid specimens in preparation for microscopic examPerform technical duties related to the production of histopathological slides of surgical specimensSection the embedded tissue, using a microtome and mount the section properly on a microscope slidePerform various immunohistochemical tests on formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue sectionsProcess mounted sections through routine and special staining proceduresProperly orient and embed surgical tissue specimensPrepare the stains and reagents needed for special proceduresReport accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care Operate and maintain manual and automated instrumentsPerform and document equipment maintenance as neededRecord equipment log data in an accurate and timely mannerPerform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures  Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policiesFollow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, analysis and reportingDocument problems that may affect test performance and perform corrective actions when needed

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent is requiredAssociate's Degree is preferredASCP Histology certification Ability to meet CLIA requirementsExperience with routine histology procedures and equipmentImmunohistochemistry experience is a plusComfortability embedding both large and small specimensAbility to accurately read all labels and documentsAbility to work independently within a team and strong attention to detailExperience working in a high volume laboratory environment is desirableFamiliarity with laboratory SOPs and safety protocol

**Pay Range: $28.53 - $43.60 per hour 

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience and the terms of the collective bargaining agreement between Dynacare Northwest, Inc. and United Food and Commercial Workers Union, Local 21.

Benefits: Regular, full-time or part-time employees working 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), accrue up to 18 days of Annual Leave per year (includes 8 holidays) and Sick Leave (0.0333) hours of sick leave for each hour of work) capped at 64 hours per year, Tuition Reimbursement and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan
