Histology Technician
Histology Technician / Technologist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Histology Technician or Technologist to join our growing team in a state-of-the-art pathology laboratory. This role is responsible for preparing tissue specimens for microscopic examination, supporting accurate diagnosis and high-quality patient care.

Key ResponsibilitiesAccession, receive, and prepare tissue specimens for processingPerform grossing and inking (if qualified)Prepare and manage media, chemicals, reagents, and solutionsProcess tissue through embedding, microtomy, staining, cryostat use, and freezingLabel and prepare slides; perform quality control checksExamine slides microscopically to identify abnormalitiesMaintain instruments, equipment, and clean work areasLog, file, track, and store specimens and slides accuratelyMaintain inventory and documentation, including QA/QC logsEnsure compliance with all regulatory and training requirementsQualificationsAssociate’s degree required; completion of a NAACLS-accredited histology programCertification as HT or HTL (ASCP) or eligibility to sit for the exam (must certify within one year)Minimum of 2 years of histology experience preferredStrong knowledge of tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, and staining techniquesFamiliarity with CLIA requirements, including 60 semester hours of coursework and lab trainingExcellent attention to detail and ability to work independentlyWork Environment

This position operates in a modern, high-volume pathology lab equipped with advanced technology. The role offers opportunities for professional growth, including exposure to Mohs procedures and other specialized techniques. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $38.00/hr.
