Job Description
The Pathobiology Lab Operations Group is seeking an experienced Histology Technician to enhance our pathology and translational research efforts. The ideal candidate will bring advanced expertise in histological procedures, including tissue processing, staining techniques, and digital pathology, to support our drug development pipeline. This role is crucial for maintaining our laboratory’s high standards, driving excellence in both histology and data management, and delivering exceptional customer service to internal stakeholders.
ResponsibilitiesOversee tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, staining, and high-resolution scanning, ensuring high-quality specimen preparation and accurate digital capture.Manage histology requests from receipt to completion, providing timely communication, insightful feedback, and outstanding customer service.Oversee samples management logistics for clinical and non-clinical samples, ensuring compliance with protocols.Implement QC measures for histological integrity, covering equipment upkeep, standard practices, accurate sample handling, issue resolution, and data accuracy checks.Provide guidance and support to R&D scientists on histology techniques and upholding laboratory safety, regulatory compliance, and service excellence.Essential SkillsExpertise in Advanced Histology Techniques and EquipmentStrong Quality Control and Lab Management ExperienceExceptional Analytical Skills and meticulous Attention to DetailAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)Knowledge of Sample tracking and Inventory ManagementStrong Problem-Solving Skills with a Proactive ApproachAS/BS degree in Histotechnology, Biology, Pathology, or a related Life Science fieldCertification as a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)A minimum of 5 years of relevant histology experienceExceptional professionalism, interpersonal skills, and commitment to customer satisfactionGood visual acuity and ability to lift up to 40 poundsWork Environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52.67 - $52.67/hr.
