LabCorp is seeking a Histology Project Specialist to join our team at our lab in Tampa, FL.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday with flexible start time: 7am - 9am.
Job Responsibilities
Training, teaching and giving lectures to students in our NAACLS Accredited Histology Education Program (24 hours)16 hours histology bench workDevelop and facilitate laboratory improvement projectsCreate SOPs for both cytology and histology.Review and resolve various laboratory audit reports.Conduct inspections in the laboratory to ensure compliance.Assist departments with training staff on LabCorp information systems and processes.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Histology OR a Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Histology, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology with 3 or more years of histology experienceFlorida State Clinical Laboratory Licensure is requiredHistology and/or ASCP certificationsPreferred Qualifications
6 months of Immunohistochemistry experienceAdditional Job Standards
Familiarity with routine histology procedures and equipmentComfortability embedding both large and small specimensAbility to accurately read all labels and documentsExperience with laboratory information systems and laboratory processesStrong organizational and communication skillsExperience working in a high volume laboratory environmentKnowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, Visio and PowerPointAbility to work independently and within a team environmentFamiliarity with laboratory SOPs and safety protocolsAble to pass a standardized color vision screenAt LabCorp we have a passion for helping people live happy and healthy lives.
