Job Title: Glendale BCBA – ABA Supervisor

Position Description The Glendale BCBA- ABA Supervisor is under the direction of the Lead Special Service Agent, and as a member of an educational team to plan, develop, coordinate, and implement the educative programs of students with autism spectrum disorders and intellectual disabilities in settings across the District (special education classrooms, regular education classrooms, and non- public classrooms). Assure effective specialized educational programs for students with autism spectrum disorders and intellectual disabilities through the analysis of data, specialized programs, and curriculum modification. Assist teachers with the implementation of district approved modified curriculum and social skills training. Train and monitor teachers and behavioral instructional assistants (BIAs) on evidence-based practices, collaborate with Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) teams, and perform related BCBA duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Establish evidenced-based programs, using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) methods as a foundation, for students with autism spectrum disorders and intellectual disabilities. Mentor, assist, and train teachers and behavioral instructional assistants (BIAs) with the implementation of learning strategies and positive behavioral support for severe and difficult behavior. Mentor and assist teachers and behavioral instructional assistants with monitoring of data and information from special education classrooms, regular education classrooms, and non- public classrooms. Develops strong collaborative relationships with the IEP team and provides training to BIAs to implement effective and positive behavioral support services in the educational setting. Individualizes student programs with the collaboration of IEP team members. This includes creating behavior goals, creating or updating BIPs, and making adjustments to treatment based on observation and monthly analysis of data collection. Collects, analyzes and reports data and other documentation within established timeframes to ensure program initiatives. Attends IEPs meetings and presents student data. Performs BCBA services including: IEP listed supervision, updating BIPs, student/class observations, teacher consultation, and BIA support. Creates and self-manages operating system to ensure monthly caseload hours are met and maintains Amergis timekeeping systems. Maintains records and reports as required by the District policies and State and Federal regulations. Understand and adhere to industry regulations related District, local, state and federal policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned/necessary. Qualifications

Knowledge of:

Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disabilities, and related disabilities. Theories of Applied Behavior Analysis, including current learning strategies, current behavior management strategies, and data collections and data analysis methods. Educational expectations based on the California Content Standards and No Child Left Behind. Pertinent Federal, State, and local codes and regulations regarding the education of students with autism spectrum disorders and intellectual disabilities. Report preparation techniques. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy. Strong oral and written communication skills.

Ability to:

Plan, develop and coordinate programs and service delivery options to meet the needs of students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disabilities, and related disabilities. Provide leadership and direction to Autism, moderate severe programs and activities. Interpret, apply, explain, and maintain current knowledge of applicable laws, codes, rules and regulations to assigned activities. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action. Plan and organize calendar, indirect hour tasks, program updates, and individual case needs. Ability to drive to and from school sites within Glendale Unified School District with a reliable vehicle. Mileage between school sites is compensated by Amergis. Work independently with little direction. Prepare comprehensive narrative and statistical reports. Direct the maintenance of a variety of data, reports, and individual case specific needs. Experience, education, licenses, certifications and other requirements Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) and in good active standing with the BACB. Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education or related field preferred. A minimum of 2 years of experience providing behavior analytic programs and services in schools working with pre-school and/or school-aged students with autism spectrum disorders, and/or intellectual disabilities. Professional Crisis Management Certificate. Complies with all relevant professional and ethical standards of practice. Adheres to the BACB task list and code of ethics. Current CPR if applicable. Must meet all federal, state and local requirements. Understand patient confidentiality and all HIPAA and FERPA requirements. Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required. Verification of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator’s license and possession of a reliable car.
