**Req Number** 162247 Job Description Performs clerical functions necessary to organize, maintain, and ensure accuracy of patient medical records. Job Responsibility + * Assesses the daily operations within the HIM Department and assumes the responsibilities of each area requiring attention to keep workflow current. + Responsible for filing and maintaining clinic records in the appropriate location, and accurate terminal digit order and color-coded sequence where applicable. + Performs data entry for tracking of record as necessary. + Responds to requests for information.Directs phone calls to the appropriate individual or location.Provides frontline assistance to customers. + Monitors and maintains all HIM related queues. + Corrects demographic information in Gems (Transcription) system then saves to COLD Feed Folder. + Receives reports that are not COLD Fed into HPF, scans and indexes.Removes deficiency for Physician. + Files loose reports into appropriate section of medical record. + Performs medical record number merges when necessary.Alerts management of any merges that involve in-house patients. + Processes name changes when necessary.Ensures proper documents are present prior to the change. + Handles special projects as assigned by management in gathering and compiling data to assist in Performance Improvement, including monthly statistics reports. + Performs related duties as required. *ADA Essential Functions Job Qualification + High School diploma or equivalent, required. + Minimum of two (2) years experience in medical records department, required. + Working knowledge of computer applications, required. *Additional Salary Detail The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).
