Job Summary Job Summary

Bishop Montgomery High School, a co-educational Catholic High School owned and operated by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, is accepting applications for the position of president for the 2026-27 school year. Serving a community of nearly 900 students, Bishop Montgomery has become synonymous with faith in action, quality, diversity, leadership, and service. All of Bishop Montgomery’s programming derives from the four pillars the school was founded on: spiritual & faith development, academic excellence, athletic success, and social growth. Rooted in the ideals of faith, community, service, excellence, and tradition, Bishop Montgomery forms leaders, critical thinkers, and young men and women who live and work for others. Reporting to the Department of Catholic Schools for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, the president is the chief executive officer of the school, and as such, holds full responsibility for the implementation of the school’s mission and all aspects of the school’s business and advancement operations. The president is directly responsible for the external affairs of the school, for ensuring sufficient resources, sound fiscal management, and financial stability of the school through oversight of the business operations (i.e. budget development, tuition management, controls), fund development, alumni, community relations, capital improvements and enrollment management activities. In addition, the president oversees the principal who is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the school, including instruction, curriculum, faith formation, student affairs, athletics, admissions, academic counseling, plant management, and other administrative domains. The president will develop a recently launched consultative school board and promote the good reputation and values of the school to the external community. Qualifications: Knowledgeable and practicing Catholic with a thorough understanding of Catholic school philosophy. A commitment to modeling the values of Catholic educational leadership is vital. Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from an accredited college or university. Master’s degree in educational administration, business administration, or related field OR California Administrative Services Credential is preferred. A minimum of ten (10) years of professional employment in the K-12 education sector with administrative leadership experience, OR ten (10) years of executive leadership experience in the for-profit or non-profit sector managing budgets of more than $5 million. Completed or willing to complete basic catechist training. Business skills necessary to manage a financial budget and develop strategic and annual plans of more than $5 million. Possess the skills necessary to effectively market the strengths of a faith-based school, build community relationships, and drive fundraising activities. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills including proven ability to engage and inspire a wide range of stakeholders, and to build creative and mutually beneficial relationships within the philanthropic community, alumni, and corporate and non-profit sectors. Proven fundraising and/or revenue-generating success, preferably in the non-profit sector and with foundations and individual donors. Visionary leadership and management experience, with demonstrated success in addressing immediate organizational needs while planning toward longer-term goals with buy-in from stakeholders. Proven experience building, coaching, and empowering effective teams and holding team members accountable for performance.
