Job Summary Job SummarySCHOOL COUNSELOR - Part-Time Job Details Position Type Part Time Education Level 4 Year Degree Description The School Counselor will provide holistic & proactive services which contribute to each student’s educational, vocational, & personal/social development. Your FTE status will determine the required number of days you must be present on campus. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: Serve as a resource and advocate for students/families in need/crisis Oversee Peer Counseling program Participate in Student Support Committee and attend Lead Class Advisor/Wellness team meetings Handle parent concerns related to the mental development of their child Support faculty as needed with questions about student mental development Is a member of the Wellness Team Refer families to mental health professionals for care when appropriate Maintain proper documentation of all work with students Is a member of the Wellness and Retention committees Attends annual Freshmen and Senior Retreats Other duties as delegated by the Dean of School Life Supervisory responsibilities: Students in the school community Reasoning ability: Ability to work on confidential issues regularly Make evaluations and recommendations regarding students Analytical thinker with the ability to assess situations accurately and act accordingly Qualifications Experience as an independent school administrator preferred Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong conflict resolution Excellent collegiality, professionalism, and organizational ability.
