**What you’ll do:**
This job will require working 2 days a week in the paracentesis clinic and 3 days a week in the hepatology department. Paracentesis duties include lab draws, starting IV's and IV infusions, specimen collection, monitoring vital signs during and after paracentesis and documentation. In hepatology, the job duties include: assisting in the evaluation of patients with liver disease, educating on treatment plans and medication management, triaging patient messages and calls, reviewing patient diagnostic tests and laboratory results for matters requiring urgent physician attention, admitting patients to the hospital, setting up procedures in Interventional Radiology and the GI lab, scheduling appointments, coordination with the pre- and post-liver transplant coordinators when needed, assisting with referrals to social work, dieticians, oncology, etc., working with patient assistance programs, obtaining insurance authorization for patient testing, participating in department Quality Improvement and research as requested, educating patients and their families on liver diseases, medications and treatments while also providing psychosocial and emotional support. Occasional clinic travel is required.
**What you’ll need for this job:**
+ Required: Associates Degree or Bachelor's degree in nursing
+ Required: 1-2 years of previous job-related experience
+ Preferred: 3-5 years of previous job-related experience
+ Current Registered Nurse License State of Illinois
+ Current CPR with American Heart Association
Salary Range: $48.14- $63.75 per hour
