Heavy Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic
Job Descriptions: Team Sigmatech is seeking a Heavy Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic to provide maintenance and repair support for tactical and commercial vehicles in support of U.S. Army operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of heavy wheeled vehicles, including HEMTTs, FMTVs, LMTVs, MRAPs, and similar platforms. This role requires a high level of technical skill, attention to detail, and compliance with Army maintenance standards and safety regulations. Responsibilities: + Perform inspections, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of tactical and commercial heavy wheeled vehicles + Repair and replace major components such as engines, transmissions, drivetrains, steering systems, and brake systems + Conduct scheduled services and unscheduled maintenance per technical manuals and PMCS procedures + Utilize electronic diagnostic tools, schematics, and technical publications + Maintain accurate maintenance records using GCSS-Army or equivalent systems + Follow all safety protocols, environmental standards, and Army maintenance procedures (AR 750-1) + Assist in recovery operations and provide field-level support as required + Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment when needed + Support readiness reporting, maintenance status updates, and quality assurance inspections + Train and mentor junior mechanics and assist in team development Required Experience: Required Qualifications: + High school diploma or GED + Technical school certification or military training (e.g., MOS 91B or equivalent) + 3–5 years of experience maintaining and repairing heavy wheeled vehicles (military or commercial) + Familiarity with HEMTT, FMTV, LMTV, MRAP, or other tactical platforms + Proficient in using GCSS-Army, SAMS-E, or similar systems + Valid driver's license; CDL preferred or ability to obtain + Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in field or shop environments Preferred Qualifications: + OSHA 10/30 or equivalent safety certification + Army COSIS knowledge and experience supporting CONUS/OCONUS missions + Familiarity with technical manuals (TM) and Army forms (DA 5988E, DA 2404) + Strong understanding of Army Maintenance Management and readiness systems Keyword: Mechanic From: Sigmatech, Inc.
