Heavy Equipment Shop Supervisor
**Job Overview:** The Heavy Equipment Shop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a team of 10 technicians and support staff while managing maintenance for a fleet of 50+ pieces of equipment. This role ensures efficient workflow management, repair forecasting, equipment availability for daily operations, and scheduling of preventive and corrective services using Compass and other maintenance tracking systems. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of lead/supervisory experience along with hands-on experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment to provide technicians with development, training, coaching, and on-the-job guidance to ensure proper repair procedures and adherence to safety and quality standards. This includes providing education opportunities and field-based instruction, equipping team members with the tools, resources, and knowledge to perform the job effectively. II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities + Oversees the day-to-day operations of employees in the maintenance shop. + Coordinates and supervises all maintenance work and repairs, and monitors progress and quality. + Reviews driver repairs and other maintenance requests and prepares work order documents. + Performs mechanical duties as needed. + Monitors inventory of replacement parts and restocks as needed. + Oversees personnel including coaching, training, evaluating employee performance, and conducting disciplinary action as needed. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions. + Interprets and ensures consistent application of organizational policies and safety regulations. + Creates and submits reports as necessary. III. Qualifications A. Required Qualifications + High School Diploma or GED (accredited) + 4 years years of relevant work experience. (in addition to education requirements) + Valid Driver's License IV. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive pay. V.
